Hull Sherpa's Climb Striding Edge.
On Friday 16th May, Dan, Rob and myself dashed up to Glenridding, after stocking up with supplies at Lidl, and pitched camp at Gillside campsite. We ate a healthy meal of pizza and beer, before discussing our assault on England's 3rd highest mountain, Helvellyn (via Striding Edge).We drank more beer and a drop of 'Jura' ( supplied by Sherpa Dan) which helped to focus our minds on the task ahead.We awoke, not very early, and set out up the steep path, with breaks for me the get my breath back!
We had picked the perfect day and weather, as you can see from the photo's.
It was bloody hard work, but, an amazing day and hard to describe. The pictures show the visual stuff (some excellent pictures from Sherpa Rob) the pain and feeling of achievement are hard to describe.
